Kishan's Record Fifty Powers India's 209 Chase as New Zealand Fall in Second T20I
Ishan Kishan smashed a record-breaking 21-ball fifty as India chased down 209 to beat New Zealand by seven wickets in the second T20I, taking a 2-0 series lead.

Ishan Kishan produced a breathtaking counter-attack as India hunted down 209 to beat New Zealand by seven wickets in the second T20I, sealing a commanding 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
Chasing New Zealand's 208 for six, India lost Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma — the latter for a duck — early, but Kishan turned the innings on its head with a ferocious 76 off 32 balls, including a 21-ball half-century, the fastest by an Indian against New Zealand in T20Is. His 122-run stand with Suryakumar Yadav, who anchored the chase with 82 off 37, drained the life out of the contest before Shivam Dube's unbeaten 36 off 18 finished it with 28 balls to spare.
New Zealand had posted a daunting total after being asked to bat, with Rachin Ravindra's 44 off 26 and captain Mitchell Santner's unbeaten 47 off 27 lifting them to 208. Zak Foulkes endured a night to forget, conceding 67 runs — the most expensive figures ever by a New Zealand bowler in a T20I.
India had also won the opening match in Christchurch, making it back-to-back emphatic batting displays to start the series.
