Khamzat Chimaev Offers Sean Strickland $1 Million for UFC Rematch
Former champion Khamzat Chimaev has offered reigning middleweight king Sean Strickland $1 million of his own money for a rematch after losing the title in May.

Khamzat Chimaev is putting his money where his mouth is. The former UFC middleweight champion has offered reigning champion Sean Strickland $1 million for a rematch, doubling an earlier $500,000 offer from contender Nassourdine Imavov, Sherdog reported.
Strickland dethroned Chimaev at UFC 328 in May, handing the previously unbeaten star his first professional loss via split decision in a major upset — Chimaev looked drained as the fight wore on and could never impose his wrestling consistently. Rumors suggest Strickland is demanding a seven-figure payday, with the UFC allegedly offering $400,000 to show and $400,000 to win.
"Strickland I will pay you 1... Send me location and let's fight, don't care outside inside the cage," Chimaev posted on X. Imavov had already told Strickland he would put $500,000 of his own money on the line if the champion beats him in January, calling him a "fake champ." Whether Strickland accepts either offer remains to be seen, but the middleweight division has rarely been this loud — or this expensive — outside the cage.
