Kerr Calls Porzingis' Continued Absence "Definitely Concerning" as Warriors Star Remains Out Indefinitely
Golden State coach Steve Kerr admitted he has not yet seen Kristaps Porzingis at training camp and called the big man's indefinite health-related absence "definitely concerning" ahead of the season opener.

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr offered a sobering update on Kristaps Porzingis on Tuesday, admitting he has yet to see the veteran center at training camp and describing his continued absence as "definitely concerning."
Porzingis was ruled out indefinitely with an undisclosed health issue at the Warriors' media day in late September, with general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. providing no timeline for a return. The 7-foot-2 big man did not travel with the team for camp in Hawaii and was still absent before Tuesday's preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
"I haven't seen him yet," Kerr told reporters at Chase Center. "He's a really talented player, and so we thought that he was in a pretty good place. So it's definitely concerning. All we're going to do is support him, give him every bit of medical help he can get, and emotional support, and hope that he's back soon."
The concern is amplified by Porzingis' recent history. The 31-year-old has missed 90 games over the past two seasons and previously revealed he was diagnosed with POTS, a disorder affecting the autonomic nervous system. After joining Golden State from Atlanta last season, he signed a two-year, $40 million extension over the summer.
The Warriors open the 2026-27 regular season on October 21 against the Lakers.
