Kaulig Swaps Dillon's Crew Chief for Final Two Races of NASCAR Season

Kaulig Racing has made a late-season change on the pit box, announcing on Wednesday that technical director Mike Cook will serve as interim crew chief for Ty Dillon's No. 10 Chevrolet for the final two Cup Series races of 2026. Cook replaces Andrew Dickeson, who had called the shots for the No. 10 team all season. Cook joined Kaulig in December 2024 from Stewart-Haas Racing, where he worked as a lead engineer, and his promotion is a chance for the organisation to evaluate a different voice on the radio as the season winds down. The change comes at the end of a difficult year for Dillon, who sits 33rd in the standings after 34 races with no wins, no top-10 finishes and only three laps led. Cook will take over at Martinsville this weekend and then at the season finale at Homestead-Miami, two very different tracks that will test the new combination quickly. Kaulig has framed the move as an interim step, but the final two races double as an audition — for Cook, for the team, and for a driver who will be desperate to end a frustrating campaign with something to build on for next year.
