Kaskimaki's First Career Goal Completes Blues' Late Comeback Over Red Wings 5-4

Aleksanteri Kaskimaki scored his first career goal at the perfect moment, tipping in an Alexey Toropchenko pass with 6:45 remaining to complete the St. Louis Blues' comeback from a two-goal third-period deficit in a 5-4 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. Playing in just his 11th NHL game, Kaskimaki delivered the winner after St. Louis had trailed 4-2 early in the final period. Jimmy Snuggerud scored his team-high eighth goal of the season, while Dalibor Dvorsky, Pavel Buchnevich and Justin Barron added the other Blues goals, and Joel Hofer made 24 saves in the opener of a four-game road trip. Detroit had built its lead through goals from J.T. Compher, Keegan Kolesar, Lucas Raymond and Emmitt Finnie, with Kolesar and Compher scoring their first goals of the season. Raymond also added an assist, but the Red Wings could not hold on as Buchnevich and Barron struck to level the scores before Kaskimaki's decisive tip. The defeat left the home crowd stunned after a game they had led for so long.
