Kane Says Bayern Are on Track After Rollercoaster Week Ahead of Atletico Trip
Harry Kane says Bayern Munich are on track despite a turbulent week, as the German champions head to Atletico Madrid with their coach back and several key players still out.

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has said his side remain on course despite a week of highs and lows, speaking on Monday ahead of Tuesday's Champions League trip to Atletico Madrid. Kane won the Ballon d'Or last week, only for the celebrations to be interrupted when head coach Vincent Kompany collapsed in training and was taken to hospital. Kompany was later diagnosed with meningeal irritation and released a few days later, and Kane described the sequence as a rollercoaster of emotions at both ends of the scale. The problems have not stopped there. Ismael Saibari has undergone surgery and Serge Gnabry was hurt in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund, a match in which Kane missed a penalty and hit the post on his return since the Ballon d'Or win. Jamal Musiala and Luis Diaz also remain sidelined as they recover from their injuries. Kane said Bayern must keep their focus until the international break later in November, when the club expect some players to return. He also revealed he is extremely close to agreeing a contract extension. Tuesday's visit to Madrid therefore arrives as a test of Bayern's depth as much as their form, with a depleted squad asked to steady itself after a week nobody at the club will forget in a hurry.
