Josh Inglis Set to Rejoin Australia Squad Ahead of Second Test Against South Africa
Wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis will link up with Australia's squad this weekend as he closes in on a comeback from the fractured finger that ruled him out of the Durban Test.

Australia have received a welcome boost ahead of the second Test against South Africa, with wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis set to rejoin the squad this weekend, according to Code Sports journalist Daniel Cherny. The 31-year-old fractured his right index finger while keeping wickets in the first ODI against South Africa in Durban on September 24, an injury that forced him to return to Perth for treatment and ruled him out of the remaining white-ball fixtures as well as the opening Test of the three-match series. Although the injury did not require surgery, Inglis needed time to recover before returning to action, and he will now link up with the touring party ahead of the second Test in Gqeberha, which begins on October 18. It remains to be seen whether Inglis will be fit enough to be considered for the playing XI or will continue his recovery with the squad as Australia look to keep their momentum in the series. His potential return gives the tourists added flexibility behind the stumps and in the middle order.
