Jokic Reaches 200 Career Triple-Doubles as Nuggets Sweep Pelicans Aside

Nikola Jokic wrote his name deeper into NBA history on Wednesday night, recording his 200th career regular-season triple-double as the Denver Nuggets beat the New Orleans Pelicans 104-91. The Serbian star finished with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists, joining Russell Westbrook as the only players ever to reach the milestone. Westbrook, who retired after last season, leads the all-time list with 209, leaving Jokic ten short of the record. It was Jokic's second triple-double of the season, both against New Orleans, and Denver never trailed in the game. Jamal Murray led the Nuggets with 23 points, hitting his first three shots — all from deep — as Denver shot 62 percent in the first quarter to build a 37-18 lead. Aaron Gordon added 15 points and 11 rebounds, Christian Braun scored 15 including back-to-back three-pointers in a critical late stretch, and Trevon Brazile chipped in 11. The Nuggets, using just nine players amid injuries, completed a two-game sweep of the Pelicans after rallying from 23 points down to win in Denver on Saturday. Zion Williamson led New Orleans with 25 points, and Derik Queen came off the bench for 11 points and 12 rebounds, but the Pelicans fell to 0-4 under first-year coach Jamahl Mosley, shooting just 7 of 30 from three-point range.
