Jennings Says No to 49ers Reunion as Vikings Trade Falls Apart
Minnesota Vikings receiver Jauan Jennings blocked a trade back to the San Francisco 49ers, declining to tell the club he wanted the move after the two teams had agreed a framework, according to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer.

A reunion between Jauan Jennings and the San Francisco 49ers is off, and it was the receiver himself who stopped it. Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reported on Sunday that Minnesota and San Francisco had the framework of a trade in place to send Jennings back to the Bay Area, but the deal was contingent on Jennings telling the 49ers, on a FaceTime call with coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch, that he wanted to join them. Jennings declined, Glazer reported, and the agreement fell apart. The 29-year-old spent the first five years of his career with the 49ers before signing a one-year deal in May to join Minnesota, where he has managed just four catches for 43 yards in five games. San Francisco's interest made sense: the 49ers have been sniffing around for receiver help ahead of the deadline. Lynch has already engineered one reunion ahead of the November 10 trade deadline, bringing back defensive tackle DeForest Buckner from Indianapolis. Jennings, though, chose to stay put, leaving the 49ers still searching for receiving help with nine days until the deadline.
