Jarry's Second Straight Shutout Powers Oilers Past Islanders 4-0

The Edmonton Oilers are making a habit of ruining Halloween for their hosts. Tristan Jarry made 18 saves for his second consecutive shutout as Edmonton blanked the New York Islanders 4-0 at UBS Arena on Saturday, opening a three-game road trip in style. Jarry, who stopped all 24 shots against Calgary on Wednesday, has now turned away 42 straight attempts and recorded his 25th career shutout — his first back-to-back clean sheets in six seasons. After a scoreless first period, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins opened the scoring off a Kasperi Kapanen forecheck, and Vasily Podkolzin doubled the lead just over a minute later with his ninth goal of the season. Nugent-Hopkins added a power-play goal late in the second, tapping in a Connor McDavid feed that stretched the captain's season-opening point and assist streak to 14 games, with 37 points in total. Jason Dickinson's empty-netter completed the scoring. Edmonton improved to 10-2-2 and a perfect 6-0-0 on the road, while the Islanders were shut out for the first time this season.
