Jake Paul Return Plans Confirmed as MVP Hunts Four Opponents Amid Netflix Doubts

Jake Paul's return to boxing is firmly in motion, with Most Valuable Promotions confirming it is deep in talks over his next fight — even as the company's broadcast future with Netflix hangs in the balance. MVP co-founder and CEO Nakisa Bidarian revealed on Thursday that the promotion is "actively negotiating with 4 potential opponents" for Paul's comeback, targeted for late 2026 or early 2027. The location and distribution of the bout will be decided once an opponent is locked in, Bidarian said, responding directly to reports that MVP's run with Netflix may be over. MVP has staged four events with the streaming giant, starting with Paul's blockbuster meeting with Mike Tyson in November 2024, followed by Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano 3, Paul vs Anthony Joshua, and MVP MMA's Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano card. But Netflix has since fired half its executives after quarterly reports showed slowing growth, leaving the insiders MVP worked with gone — and, according to reports, the promotion's access to the network in jeopardy. Paul recently posted a hit list of targets including Canelo Alvarez, Francis Ngannou and Conor McGregor, with Ngannou the only one so far showing genuine interest. Whoever emerges, Paul will fight on, "whether it's on Netflix or elsewhere," Bidarian made clear.
