Jake Paul Calls Out Canelo After Mexican Star's Win Over Mbilli
Jake Paul posted within hours of Canelo Alvarez's win over Christian Mbilli, renewing his long-running call for a fight with the Mexican star.

Jake Paul spent Saturday night watching Canelo Alvarez in action, and within hours of the Mexican star's unanimous-decision win over Christian Mbilli in Riyadh he had renewed his long-running call for a fight. "Out of the ring for 13 months but still the same old Canelo. Respect," Paul wrote on X. "Did take a lot of punches though. We will dance my friend, we will dance." The post is the latest move in a campaign stretching back three years, during which Paul has repeatedly chased a meeting with Alvarez. In February 2025, after reports that a May 3 fight in Las Vegas had been agreed, Canelo instead signed a four-fight Riyadh Season deal and boxed William Scull. Canelo's victory over Mbilli, in which the previously unbeaten Frenchman lost a point in the eighth round for punching behind the head, reclaimed the WBC super-middleweight title and marked the 36-year-old's first fight since losing to Terence Crawford in September 2025. Whether his latest callout leads anywhere remains to be seen, but Paul has made sure his name is part of the conversation again.
