India batter Sabbhineni Meghana announced her retirement from all forms of cricket on Friday at age 30, closing a career that included 3 ODIs, 17 T20Is, a 2022 Commonwealth Games silver medal and a 2024 WPL title with Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Sabbhineni Meghana brought her playing career to a close on Friday, announcing her retirement from all formats of cricket at the age of 30.
The Andhra Pradesh top-order batter represented India in three ODIs and 17 T20Is, registering a half-century in each format. Her T20I debut came on November 20, 2016 against the West Indies, while her ODI debut followed on February 12, 2022 against New Zealand. Her last appearances came in 2022, and she was part of the India squad that claimed silver at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
On the franchise front, Meghana was picked up by Gujarat Giants for the inaugural Women's Premier League season before moving to Royal Challengers Bengaluru ahead of the 2024 edition, where she was part of the RCB side that lifted the title. Across her WPL appearances she accumulated 302 runs in 14 innings, including one half-century.
In an emotional social media message, Meghana wrote that "the field has been my second home, teaching me resilience, humility, and giving me memories and friendships that I will carry for a lifetime." She thanked her family, coaches, the BCCI and the franchises that backed her, and vowed that stepping away from playing does not mean stepping away from cricket — she intends to dedicate herself to mentoring the next generation.
