Illing and Three Uncapped Indians Take WPL 2027 Auction Pool to 150

The Women's Premier League 2027 auction pool has grown to 150 players after four late additions were confirmed on Wednesday. New Zealand left-arm medium pacer Bree Illing headlines the new names, offering franchises an overseas pace option, and she has set her base price at 30 lakh rupees. The three Indian additions are all uncapped domestic players: Delhi legspinners Medhavi Bidhuri and Samaira Raghav, and Uttar Pradesh left-arm medium pacer Avanya Jain, each starting at 10 lakh rupees. Raghav also offers handy lower-order batting. The five franchises head into the auction in Kochi with very different room to manoeuvre. UP Warriorz hold the largest remaining purse at 3.75 crore rupees, with eight slots to fill including three overseas places. At the other end, Mumbai Indians have the smallest purse at 90 lakh rupees, with six open slots, all for Indian players. Gujarat Giants have 1.25 crore for three slots, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals have 1.15 crore and 1.10 crore respectively, with five slots each to fill. Delhi, runners-up in all four editions so far, still have one overseas vacancy to address. The additions complete a 150-player shortlist and set up a busy auction room as teams shape their squads for the 2027 season.
