Hurricane Isaias Pushes O'Reilly Series Blue Cross NC 300 to Sunday Night at Charlotte
Remnants of Hurricane Isaias forced NASCAR to postpone Saturday's NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series Blue Cross NC 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway to Sunday night, setting up a Cup–O'Reilly doubleheader.

Saturday's NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway will not run as scheduled. Rain from Hurricane Isaias drenched the area all day, forcing NASCAR to postpone the Blue Cross NC 300 to Sunday night, where it will follow the Cup Series race as part of a full doubleheader at the Concord track. The O'Reilly race, the fifth of nine in the series' Chase, is now set for an 8 p.m. ET green flag on the CW. Cup Series practice and qualifying were also wiped out Saturday, but Sunday's Bank of America 400 — the sixth race of the Cup postseason Chase — remains on as scheduled, with the green flag expected around 3:19 p.m. ET on the USA Network. With no qualifying, the field was set per NASCAR's metric: points leader Kyle Larson starts from the pole, with last weekend's winner Chase Briscoe alongside him on the front row. The postponement shuffles a tight O'Reilly Series championship battle. Sheldon Creed holds a 19-point lead over Carson Kvapil, while Jesse Love, regular-season champion Justin Allgaier, Corey Day and Sam Mayer all sit within 52 points of the lead. Sunday night will mark the O'Reilly Series' first Sunday night race since the 2021 Cook Out 250 at Martinsville — an event that, fittingly, was also postponed by rain. Charlotte is no stranger to soggy weekends: the May Coca-Cola 600 weekend saw the Truck Series race pushed multiple times and the O'Reilly and Cup races called early. Sunday's forecast offers some hope, with showers expected to taper by mid-afternoon and clearer skies forecast for the evening.
