Huang's 65 Vaults Her Into Wistron Lead as Shih Fades
Ching Huang fired a seven-under 65 in strong wind to take a one-shot lead into the final round of the Wistron Ladies Open in Taiwan.

Ching Huang produced the round of the day in difficult conditions to seize the lead at the Wistron Ladies Open, firing a seven-under 65 on Saturday to reach 14 under par at Sunrise Golf and Country Club in Taoyuan. The home favourite began the day five shots behind halfway leader Cheng-Hsuan Shih, but a brilliant display in strong wind turned the tournament on its head. Huang birdied four holes in a row from the fifth, dropped her only shot of the day at the ninth, and then added further birdies at the 10th, 12th, 16th and 18th to move to 14-under 202. South Africa's Casandra Alexander, the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit leader, sits one shot back after a 68, with England's Hannah Screen third at 12 under and Mimi Rhodes fourth at 11 under. Shih, the 2020 champion who led after back-to-back 66s, endured a miserable Saturday, shooting a three-over 75 to slip to fifth at 10 under. Huang, who won on the Taiwan LPGA Tour earlier this year, now has a first LET title in her sights, though she admitted she was unsure whether to hope for more wind on Sunday, with a chasing pack ready to pounce if conditions ease.
