Goodyear Brings Familiar Tire Setup to Homestead Championship Weekend

Goodyear has confirmed the tire setup it will bring to Homestead-Miami Speedway for Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series championship race, and there will be few surprises for the teams. Although this particular combination has not been used at Homestead before, the left- and right-side tires have each been used 11 times during the 2026 season, including four times in the Chase. That familiarity should give crews a solid starting point as they chase a title on one of the calendar's most demanding intermediates. Cup teams will receive 12 sets in total: eight new sets for the race, one for qualifying that transfers to the race, and three for practice. The O'Reilly Auto Parts Series will use the same compound introduced at Darlington in September, another high-wear intermediate oval. The weekend will also have a distinctive look overhead, with the Goodyear Blimp flying a special Grand Theft Auto VI livery as part of the build-up to the game's release later this month. The Cup championship race begins at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, live on NBC, with the Truck Series finale opening the weekend on Friday night.
