Golden Knights Rally From 3-0 Down to Stun Maple Leafs in Shootout
The Vegas Golden Knights erased a 3-0 first-period deficit to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3 in a shootout on Thursday, winning their third straight game.

The Vegas Golden Knights produced the comeback of the young NHL season on Thursday, storming back from three goals down to defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3 in a shootout at T-Mobile Arena.
Toronto looked home and dry after first-period strikes from Jack Roslovic, Easton Cowan and Nick Paul put the visitors 3-0 up inside 20 minutes. But Mark Stone started the rally late in the first, Brett Howden scored off a slick Mitch Marner feed in the second, and Jack Eichel equalized with a penalty shot to send the game to overtime.
After a scoreless extra period, Braeden Bowman netted his first career shootout goal before Trevor Connelly converted the winner in the fifth round. Adin Hill stopped 21 shots in regulation plus four of five in the shootout.
Eichel's two points moved him into a share of the NHL scoring lead as the Golden Knights (4-1-0) won their third consecutive game, while the Maple Leafs (2-2-1) were left to rue a night that slipped spectacularly through their fingers.
