Georgia's Suffocating Defense Forces Four Turnovers in 27-8 Rout of Florida
No. 3 Georgia dismantled Florida 27-8 in Atlanta as a dominant defense forced four turnovers and held the Gators under 250 yards of offense.

Georgia reminded the rest of college football who still runs the neighborhood, dismantling Florida 27-8 in the Halloween rivalry clash at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The third-ranked Bulldogs built a 24-0 halftime lead and never looked back, winning a sixth straight game in the series behind arguably their best defensive performance of the season. The tone was set immediately. Florida's opening drive ended with Ellis Robinson IV intercepting Aaron Philo, and Georgia turned the short field into a 1-yard Nate Frazier touchdown run late in the first quarter. Demello Jones added another interception in the second quarter to set up a Peyton Woodring field goal, and Bo Walker stretched the lead to 17-0 with a 1-yard score. The killer blow came 29 seconds before halftime, when Quintavius Johnson's strip-sack was scooped up by Chris Cole, who raced 66 yards for a defensive touchdown. Georgia's defense held Florida to under 250 yards of offense, recorded 11 tackles for loss and four sacks, and bottled up star running back Jaden Baugh, limiting him to 38 yards on 17 carries. The Bulldogs forced four turnovers in all and scored 17 points off them. Quarterback Gunner Stockton did not need to be spectacular, completing 13 of 23 passes for 101 yards while adding 45 rushing yards, as Georgia controlled the clock and field position throughout. Florida's only points came midway through the fourth quarter, preserving a scoring streak that now stands at 481 games.
