Gauthier Makes Ducks History With Second Straight Hat Trick in Vancouver Win

Cutter Gauthier delivered another remarkable individual performance in Vancouver, scoring his second consecutive hat trick as Anaheim held off the Canucks 5-4. The feat set a new team record for the Ducks, who have now seen their young forward produce back-to-back three-goal games. Gauthier's latest hat trick headlined a high-scoring Tuesday night across the NHL, which produced 76 goals across 11 games. Anaheim's win in Vancouver was one of several standout results on the night, alongside Dallas's 6-5 victory over Washington, in which Jason Robertson scored a natural hat trick, and Columbus's 7-2 demolition of Colorado. The Ducks needed every one of Gauthier's goals to see off a Canucks side that pushed them all the way, and the win adds to the growing sense that Gauthier is becoming one of the league's most dangerous young scorers. Two hat tricks in a row is rare at any level, and doing it as a team record makes the run even more notable. Anaheim will now hope its in-form forward can keep the streak alive as the schedule moves on from a wild Tuesday night.
