Gatcomb Strikes Late as Golden Knights Edge Canucks 3-2
Marc Gatcomb scored the go-ahead goal 34 seconds after Vancouver tied it, lifting Vegas to a 3-2 win at Rogers Arena.

Marc Gatcomb picked the perfect moment for his first goal as a Golden Knight. The free-agent signing scored the go-ahead goal late in the second period — just 34 seconds after Vancouver had tied the game — to lift Vegas to a 3-2 victory over the Canucks at Rogers Arena on Sunday.
After Jonathan Lekkerimaki's sharp-angle shot beat Adin Hill to make it 2-2, Gatcomb pounced on a rebound of Braeden Bowman's wraparound attempt at 18:28, restoring the lead before the intermission. "To be able to respond that quickly and tilt the momentum back in our favor was huge," Gatcomb said.
Mitch Marner and Victor Olofsson also scored for Vegas (2-1-0), with Hill making 18 saves in his first start of the season to bounce back from Friday's loss to Anaheim. Paul Cotter scored his fourth goal in four games for Vancouver (2-2-0), but the Canucks couldn't find an equaliser on the second night of a back-to-back.
