Gabriel Turns 16 and Tells Chelsea No as Real Madrid and Barcelona Circle
Manchester United wonderkid JJ Gabriel celebrated his 16th birthday on Tuesday by telling Chelsea he wants to leave the Premier League for a European giant, with Real Madrid and Barcelona leading the chase.

Manchester United's teenage sensation JJ Gabriel has made his intentions crystal clear on his 16th birthday: he wants out of England, and he wants one of Europe's giants. Chelsea have been told the England Under-17 international is leaving the Premier League for a move abroad, with Real Madrid and Barcelona understood to be leading the race for his signature.
Gabriel turned 16 on Tuesday, the trigger that makes him automatically eligible for United's B-list squad and — crucially — able to sign for a club in the European Union. His Irish passport means he can move to an EU club immediately, subject to FIFA approval, and United would be entitled only to FIFA training compensation of around £300,000 — a fraction of the millions a domestic tribunal would award if he joined a Premier League rival.
It is a stunning fallout. Gabriel has not trained with United since demanding his registration be torn up last month, after being pulled from a planned Carabao Cup debut against Brighton. United have made several attempts to reconcile, but his family are intent on leaving. Ironically, he featured in United's official team photo issued on Monday — taken on September 8, before the bombshell.
MARCA reports Madrid remain keen and want him for Castilla, while Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are also in the hunt. With United powerless to stop an EU move, one of the brightest talents in English football could be wearing a different badge within weeks.
