Five Drivers Chase O'Reilly Crown as Allgaier Leads Into Homestead Finale
Justin Allgaier carries a 22-point lead into Saturday's O'Reilly Auto Parts Series finale at Homestead, with four rivals still able to snatch the title.

After 32 races and more than 5,400 laps, the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series championship comes down to five drivers and one Saturday night at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Justin Allgaier leads the way after reclaiming the points lead in the penultimate race at Martinsville, and he controls his own destiny — but only just. Reigning champion Jesse Love sits 22 points behind Allgaier after a brake failure ruined his afternoon at Martinsville, while Corey Day is one point further back following a late-season charge. Martinsville winner Carson Kvapil enters 31 points off the pace, and Sheldon Creed faces the steepest climb at 42 back, though he remains mathematically alive at a track where he loves running the high line. The maths is tight. Allgaier needs 54 points no matter what the others do, and he currently loses the Chase tiebreaker to every one of his four challengers, so a cautious cruise to the flag will not be enough. Love, meanwhile, must produce something special to defend a crown he won a year ago. The championship race runs Saturday at 5 p.m. ET on The CW, the middle act of a Homestead weekend that crowns champions in all three of NASCAR's national series.
