FIM World Supercross Championship Axed After One Race Amid Promoter Cash Crisis
The 2026 FIM World Supercross Championship has been cancelled with immediate effect after just one round, leaving Cooper Webb the de facto champion.

The FIM World Supercross Championship has been shut down. The series announced on Thursday that the 2026 season "will conclude with immediate effect" — after just a single race — leaving Cooper Webb, winner of August's Calgary Canadian Grand Prix, the de facto champion.
The planned Buenos Aires round on October 25 is cancelled, while the UK round scheduled for October 11 had already been called off. The championship blamed financial problems for the series promoter, whose ownership has changed several times since the rights were taken over in 2022, with the current investors arriving only at the end of 2024.
Organisers insist the series is in "advanced discussions with potential investors" over its future, but for 2026 at least, the World Supercross book is closed after one round.
