Ferrari Readies Final Major Upgrade Package for Austin Push

Italian reports say Ferrari will bring a new floor, revised sidepods and cooling changes to the SF-26 at next week's United States Grand Prix — the team's last major aerodynamic step before attention turns to the 2027 car.

Ferrari Readies Final Major Upgrade Package for Austin Push

Ferrari is not done with 2026 yet. According to Italian outlet AutoRacer, the team plans to bring its final major aerodynamic upgrade of the season to the United States Grand Prix in Austin — a package combining a new floor, revised sidepods, bodywork changes and cooling revisions on the SF-26. The pieces are designed to work together: a reworked floor aimed at producing more downforce and staying consistent as the car's ride height changes, narrower sidepod inlets to reshape airflow around it, and adjusted cooling exits to suit the new layout. Some weight reduction is also expected as part of the package. The timing is deliberate. With 2026 titles still undecided, Ferrari believes upgrades can still reshuffle a competitive order that has swung repeatedly this season. Team principal Frederic Vasseur refused to declare Red Bull the new benchmark even after Max Verstappen's back-to-back wins in Malaysia and Singapore, insisting that fresh developments can change everything at any round. If the reported components arrive together at the Circuit of the Americas next weekend, Austin will show whether the combined effect produces a better-balanced, faster car. Ferrari has not publicly confirmed the full specification or a lap-time target — the report describes a development direction, not measured gains. After this package, the Scuderia is expected to switch its focus fully to the 2027 regulations.
