FC Seoul finally got their AFC Champions League Two campaign moving on Wednesday, sweeping aside The Cong-Viettel 5-0 at Hang Day Stadium in Hanoi. The win, in Group E matchday three, gave Kim Gi-dong's side their first points of the competition after a frustrating start to the group stage.

The visitors wasted no time imposing themselves. Moon Seon-min opened the scoring after just eight minutes, and Anderson Oliveira doubled the lead in the 21st minute. Hwang Do-yoon added a third in the 29th minute before Cho Young-wook made it four before half-time, leaving the home side with a mountain to climb at the break.

Leonardo Ruiz completed the rout in the 54th minute, finishing a move that underlined how completely Seoul controlled the second half as well. Viettel, playing at home in the Vietnamese capital, rarely threatened a comeback and finished well beaten.

The result puts Seoul back in the Group E picture, with the race for the knockout places still wide open. On the same matchday, Persib Bandung also picked up a notable win, beating Australia's Melbourne Victory 2-0 thanks to a second-half brace from Balsa Sekulic. For Seoul, though, the story was simple: a first win, five goals, and a clean sheet to build on.
