Derrick Henry Passes Two Hall of Famers to Climb to Seventh All-Time in Rushing

Derrick Henry continues to climb the NFL's all-time rushing list, and Thursday night brought another milestone. The Baltimore Ravens running back passed two Hall of Famers during the second quarter of the Week 9 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at M&T Bank Stadium. Henry moved past Jerome Bettis' 13,662 career rushing yards, then went ahead of LaDainian Tomlinson's 13,684 to take sole possession of seventh place on the all-time list. The Ravens confirmed the achievement during the second quarter, and Henry finished the first half with 51 yards on 12 carries. Baltimore has leaned heavily on its veteran back with the offence in crisis. Starting quarterback Lamar Jackson and backup Tyler Huntley were both placed on injured reserve this week, leaving undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano to make his first NFL start. The Ravens managed only a 53-yard Jake Moody field goal in the first half, while Jacksonville built a 17-3 halftime lead behind Trevor Lawrence, who threw for 197 yards and a touchdown in the opening 30 minutes. Henry's climb is not finished. He now sits behind only the very top of the rushing list, and with the Ravens turning to him more than ever while their quarterback room heals, he has every chance to keep moving up before the season is done.
