Daniels "Full Go" for Commanders Against Giants as Braced Elbow Return Confirmed
Washington offensive coordinator David Blough confirmed Thursday that quarterback Jayden Daniels will make his first start since Week 2 on Sunday against the New York Giants, returning from a dislocated elbow with no restrictions.

The Washington Commanders will have their franchise quarterback back for Sunday's NFC East showdown with the New York Giants, after offensive coordinator David Blough confirmed on Thursday that Jayden Daniels is a "full go" with no limitations. Daniels has been out since the final play of the first half in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys, when he dislocated his left, non-throwing elbow. It was the second dislocation of the same elbow in 10 months, after he first suffered the injury in Week 9 last November against Seattle and then re-aggravated it on his return against Minnesota. He missed two games, but has opted against season-ending surgery and will play the rest of the season wearing a protective brace on the elbow. "I'm gonna embrace the brace," Daniels said after Wednesday's full practice. "It's a part of me now." Daniels was a full participant in practice this week, taking first-team reps while backup Marcus Mariota nurses a sprained MCL suffered in London against Indianapolis. Rookie Athan Kaliakmanis finished that game and will likely back up Daniels on Sunday. Head coach Dan Quinn said Washington's playoff predicament played no part in the timeline. The Commanders sit 1-3 and 0-2 in the division, and a home loss to the division-leading Giants (3-1) would be a heavy blow to their season. The Giants, meanwhile, will be led by Jameis Winston, who is making his third start in place of the injured Jaxson Dart.
