Dallas Punch Their Playoff Ticket With 1-0 Win Over Seattle
FC Dallas secured their place in the 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs on Wednesday night with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Seattle Sounders, locking up postseason soccer with five regular-season games still to play.

FC Dallas are going to the playoffs. A 1-0 win over the Seattle Sounders on Wednesday night sealed the club's spot in the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs, and it did it with something still left on the table — five regular-season matches remain.
Dallas sit third in the Western Conference on 50 points after 29 games, with 14 wins, seven losses and eight draws. It is the club's second straight playoff trip under head coach Eric Quill, a sign that something solid is being built in Texas after years of near-misses. The lone MLS Cup final appearance in club history — a defeat to Colorado in 2010 — still stands as the target to beat.
The engine of this team is easy to spot. Croatian striker Petar Musa has hammered in 19 goals in 25 league games, second in the Golden Boot race, and he even found the net against England at this summer's World Cup. Around him, Logan Farrington has added ten goals and five assists, while winter signing Joaquín Valiente leads the side with 13 assists. Behind them, Osaze Urhoghide and MLS veteran Lalas Abubakar have held the defensive line together.
The postseason starts November 18 with the Wild Card matches, and MLS Cup is set for December 18. Dallas will fancy themselves — and on the East side, the New England Revolution also booked their place Wednesday night with a 3-2 win at FC Cincinnati, their first playoff berth since 2023.
