Curry's 34 Powers Warriors to Fifth Straight Win in 116-113 Suns Thriller
Stephen Curry scored 34 points as Golden State fought back from 17 down to beat Phoenix 116-113 for a fifth consecutive win.

Stephen Curry scored 34 points and handed out seven assists as the Golden State Warriors fought back from 17 points down to beat the Phoenix Suns 116-113 at Chase Center on Monday night, extending their winning run to five games. Brandin Podziemski added 20 points, and Charles Bassey gave Golden State a major lift off the bench with 17 points and eight rebounds in 23 minutes. The Warriors trailed by 11 when Draymond Green was ejected early in the second half after receiving two technical fouls following a foul on Suns centre Khaman Maluach, but they responded with a 42-point third quarter to tie the game at 93-93 heading into the final period. Devin Booker led Phoenix with 26 points before fouling out with 57.6 seconds remaining, while Miles Bridges added 21 and Dillon Brooks 18. The Suns, who beat Golden State in their home opener on October 24, have now lost three in a row and sit at 1-4 for the season. Collin Gillespie had a chance to force overtime but missed a 36-footer at the buzzer. Phoenix had started last season 1-4 before winning seven of their next eight games, and they will hope for a similar turnaround when they begin a season-long seven-game homestand against Portland on November 4. Golden State, meanwhile, continue to gather momentum after a slow start, with Curry's scoring leading a side that has found ways to win tight games. The Warriors host Miami on Thursday night.
