Colts Standing by Daniel Jones Despite Struggles, Says Report
The Indianapolis Colts have not discussed benching quarterback Daniel Jones despite his struggles, according to a Saturday report from NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

The Indianapolis Colts are standing by Daniel Jones as their starting quarterback for now, despite a difficult start to the season, according to a report from NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero on Saturday. Jones, 29, has completed a career-low 59.6 percent of his passes for 1,398 yards, four touchdowns and seven interceptions through seven games, and Indianapolis have lost three straight to fall to 2-5. But the report says the organisation has not discussed benching the veteran, who is still working back from a torn Achilles and has been playing with depleted weapons. One factor that could influence the decision later in the season is Jones's $10.51 million injury guarantee for 2027, which would become relevant if Indianapolis fall out of playoff contention. The Colts are in the middle of a significant roster shake-up ahead of the trade deadline, having already traded All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, while star running back Jonathan Taylor has also drawn trade interest. For now, though, Jones remains the starter as Indianapolis prepare to face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
