Clippers Send Ingram to G League as He Works Back From Injury

The LA Clippers have assigned Brandon Ingram to their NBA G League affiliate, the San Diego Clippers, as the forward continues working toward his debut with the team. The transaction, dated October 31 and reported by Clippers reporter Joey Linn, is the latest step in Ingram's recovery from right heel surgery and a partially torn Achilles tendon, an injury that has delayed his first appearance since arriving in Los Angeles. Ingram was a major part of the Clippers' offseason overhaul, acquired from the Toronto Raptors in the Kawhi Leonard trade. The assignment does not mean he has been waived or made available to another franchise: NBA teams retain an assigned player's rights and can recall him at any time. It also does not by itself mean Ingram has been cleared for unrestricted activity or given a debut date. The timing fits a break in the Clippers' schedule, with three days off between games against the Miami Heat and New Orleans Pelicans. Los Angeles plans to practise in LA during that window, and if Ingram is cleared he could take part and potentially address reporters, giving the club its first real look at its new forward in a team setting.
