Chapman and Ravindra Ruled Out of New Zealand's ODI Series Against India

New Zealand have suffered a double injury blow ahead of their five-match one-day series against India, with Mark Chapman and Rachin Ravindra both ruled out. Chapman sustained a left hamstring injury during the European T20 Premier League, and an MRI scan confirmed he needs at least two weeks of rehabilitation, ruling him out of the entire series. Ravindra, meanwhile, dislocated his right shoulder during a promotional shoot and had already missed the T20I leg of the tour; his shoulder has not recovered enough for him to field comfortably in white-ball cricket. New Zealand Cricket confirmed both absences on November 2, with head coach Rob Walter explaining that the Test series against India later in November was also a factor in managing Ravindra's workload carefully. The Black Caps assembled on Monday, with Matt Henry's readiness also being assessed after he missed the last three T20Is with a low-grade tear in his right quadriceps. New Zealand lost the preceding T20I series 3-2 and will now need others to step up against a strong Indian side.
