Celtic Held 2-2 by Dundee United as Scottish Title Race Stays Open

Celtic's grip on the Scottish Premiership loosened slightly on Wednesday night as Dundee United twice hit back to earn a 2-2 draw at Celtic Park. Camilo Duran put the home side ahead, but the visitors turned the game around before half-time, with Zac Sapsford and Neil Farrugia both finding the net to give United a lead at the break. Liam Scales rescued a point for Celtic with a second-half equaliser, yet the champions could not find a winner despite pushing hard in the closing stages. The dropped points keep Celtic four points clear of Rangers at the summit, and eight ahead of Hearts in third, but the chasing pack will take encouragement from a night when the leaders looked far from unbeatable. Dundee United, meanwhile, climb to fifth, their resilience on the road rewarded with a deserved share of the spoils. Elsewhere on a full Premiership card, Hearts and Rangers also shared four goals at Tynecastle. Rangers led through Kevin Kelsy before Claudio Braga and Calvin Miller turned the match in Hearts' favour, only for Olwethu Makhanya to strike late and level it at 2-2. Dundee moved up to fourth after beating Kilmarnock 3-1, with Joe Bevan and an Ashley Hay double doing the damage, while St Mirren and Hibernian drew 1-1 and Aberdeen lost 1-0 at home to Falkirk.
