Celtic and Rangers Both Held as Scottish Title Race Tightens

Celtic's lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership stayed at four points after a breathless Thursday night in which both Glasgow giants dropped points. At Celtic Park, Camilo Duran put the champions ahead before Zac Sapsford and Neil Farrugia turned the game around for Dundee United, and Liam Scales rescued a 2-2 draw with a second-half equaliser. The result kept Celtic four points clear of Rangers and eight ahead of Hearts, with Dundee United sitting fifth. At Tynecastle, Rangers looked on course for three points when Kevin Kelsy gave them a first-half lead, but Claudio Braga and Calvin Miller put Hearts in front after the break before Olwethu Makhanya struck late to share the spoils in another 2-2 draw. Elsewhere, Dundee climbed to fourth with a 3-1 win over Kilmarnock thanks to Joe Bevan and an Ashley Hay double, while Falkirk beat Aberdeen 1-0 in the night's other decisive result. St Johnstone drew 2-2 with Motherwell and St Mirren shared a 1-1 draw with Hibernian. Kilmarnock, meanwhile, slipped to the foot of the table on goal difference. With the top two both stumbling on the same night, the title race remains finely balanced heading into the weekend fixtures.
