Canelo Names the One Fight He Wants More Than Any Other: a Terence Crawford Rematch
Canelo told The Ring he wants a Crawford rematch more than any other fight, after rewatching their Sept 2025 clash five times; Crawford has been retired since December.

Canelo Alvarez has named the one fight he wants more than any other before his career ends: a rematch with Terence Crawford.
Speaking to Mike Coppinger of The Ring from Oleksandr Usyk's gym in Spain, the Mexican superstar made clear that avenging his September 2025 loss — the defeat that cost him the undisputed super-middleweight crown — is his top priority if he gets past Christian Mbilli in Riyadh on October 31.
"I always do good in the rematches so I hope that fight happen again," Canelo said. "I've watched it like five times and it was very close. There was not much in it. Like I said, there was very little in it to have the win or loss. I know what happened and I know my mistakes. He is a great fighter and you need to be one hundred percent to face him."
The problem is that Crawford hung up the gloves in December following his win over Canelo, and he has since dismissed potential bouts with Ryan Garcia and Jaron Ennis. Whether anything could entice him back for a second meeting remains to be seen.
Canelo has history on his side when it comes to rematches — he claimed two wins over Gennady Golovkin after their first fight ended in a draw. The Mbilli bout, for now, is still scheduled to go ahead in Riyadh despite security concerns around the region.
