The Montreal Canadiens will go for a fifth straight win when they host Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins at Bell Centre on Halloween night, in the headline game of a ten-game NHL Saturday — the busiest Halloween schedule since 2015. Montreal, 8-3-2, have won four in a row on the back of a perfect road trip capped by a 5-2 win in Dallas.
Remarkably, the run has come without captain Nick Suzuki, who is expected to miss a fifth straight game with an upper-body injury and could be sidelined for another one to three weeks. Cole Caufield and Alex Newhook each scored twice in Dallas as the Canadiens' depth carried them through.
Pittsburgh, 5-6-2, have collected points in three straight games, and Crosby needs one power-play point to tie Hall of Fame defenceman Phil Housley for tenth most in NHL history with 612. The Penguins won the first meeting between the sides this season, 6-5 in overtime in Montreal, so the Canadiens will need another complete performance to stretch their streak to five.
