Bulega Sweeps Estoril Triple to Smash WorldSBK Wins and Points Records
Nicolò Bulega won all three WorldSBK races at Estoril on Sunday, lifting his 2026 win tally to a record 29 and setting a new single-season points record of 664.

Two weeks after sealing the Superbike World Championship at Cremona, Nicolò Bulega turned the penultimate round at Estoril into a history lesson. The Ducati rider swept all three races — Saturday's Race 1, the Sunday morning Superpole Race and the afternoon's Race 2 — to complete his ninth hat-trick of the season and rewrite the WorldSBK record books. The treble took Bulega's 2026 victory tally to 29, surpassing the previous single-season record of 27 set by fellow Ducati rider Álvaro Bautista in 2023. His 62-point haul from Portugal also pushed his season total to 664 points, breaking Jonathan Rea's single-campaign record of 663 set in 2019. Race 2 summed up the campaign. After winning the Superpole Race — his tenth win in 11 short races this season — Bulega lost the lead at the start but retook it on the very first lap and was never threatened again. Teammate Iker Lecuona followed him home for another Aruba.it Racing-Ducati one-two, while rookie Alberto Surra completed a dream weekend with his third podium in three races after Bautista crashed out of third at Turn 1 with a handful of laps remaining. The race was run in 33 minutes 28.170 seconds, almost 12 seconds quicker than last year's edition.
