Brunson's 38 Lifts Knicks Past Bulls in 133-127 Chicago Win
Jalen Brunson scored 38 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter, as the New York Knicks held off the Chicago Bulls 133-127 for their second straight win.

Jalen Brunson took over down the stretch as the New York Knicks beat the Chicago Bulls 133-127 on Wednesday night, winning a second straight game after opening the season with three defeats. Brunson finished with 38 points and seven assists, scoring 14 in the fourth quarter as the Knicks seized control with a 10-2 run that made it 124-114 with under four minutes left. Karl-Anthony Towns added 19 points and 13 rebounds, OG Anunoby scored 23, and Jordan Clarkson chipped in 18 off the bench. Chicago had led by as many as 19 points in the second half before fading to a fourth loss in five games, despite Norman Powell's 30 points on ten-of-15 shooting and 20 from Caleb Wilson. The Bulls closed to 130-127 in the final minute, but Powell missed a late chance to tie and Brunson and Anunoby combined for three free throws to close it out. Towns and Landry Shamet both briefly left the game with knocks in the first half before returning, while Tre Jones's half-court buzzer-beater had given Chicago a 62-56 half-time lead that ultimately counted for nothing.
