Brown's Late Block Seals 76ers' 112-106 Win Over Pistons in East Showdown
Jaylen Brown blocked Cade Cunningham's late three-point attempt as the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Detroit Pistons 112-106 in a battle of the Eastern Conference's top two teams.

The Philadelphia 76ers survived a late Detroit rally to win a heavyweight Eastern Conference clash 112-106 at Little Caesars Arena on Wednesday, improving to 8-1 while the Pistons slipped to 6-2. Philadelphia had controlled much of the night, opening up a 17-point lead during a 37-14 run in the first half and taking a 56-42 advantage into the break as Detroit shot just 37.2 percent from the field. The Pistons refused to fold, however, and a late 11-2 run cut the gap to four points at 106-102. The decisive moment arrived with 38 seconds remaining, when Jaylen Brown blocked a pull-up three-point attempt by Cade Cunningham that would have cut the lead to one. Tyrese Maxey then sank two free throws with 20.2 seconds left to ice the win. Brown finished with 30 points, including 23 in the first half, while Maxey added 19 points and seven assists. For Detroit, Duncan Robinson led the way with 27 points and a season-high seven three-pointers, Cunningham posted 26 points and 11 assists, and Ausar Thompson recorded 11 points and 17 rebounds. Detroit was again without Jalen Duren and Isaiah Joe through injury, but the Pistons' fightback showed why they sit among the East's early leaders.
