Brennan Storms to Baycurrent Classic Title in Japan for Third PGA Tour Win at 24
Michael Brennan carded a composed final-round 3-under 68 to win the Baycurrent Classic in Japan on Sunday by one stroke over Jacob Bridgeman and Keith Mitchell — his third PGA Tour title in just 33 starts.

Michael Brennan is officially one of golf's brightest young stars. The 24-year-old closed with a 3-under 68 at Yokohama Country Club on Sunday to capture the Baycurrent Classic, his second victory of the season and third PGA Tour title in only 33 career starts — making him the fourth-fastest player to reach three Tour wins since 1970. Brennan finished at 16-under 268, one shot clear of Jacob Bridgeman and Keith Mitchell in the FedEx Cup Fall event. Tied for the third-round lead, he recovered from a bogey at the 10th with back-to-back birdies at Nos. 11 and 12, then parred the final six holes to seal it. He hit all 15 fairways in the final round and led the field in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee. Bridgeman, who opened with a 63, had a 10-foot birdie putt on 17 that would have tied the lead but slid by. Mitchell briefly surged to 17 under but went 2 over across his final 10 holes. Defending champion Xander Schauffele stood one shot back on the 18th tee but double-bogeyed after driving into the trees, dropping into a tie for fourth at 13 under with Stephan Jaeger, Brian Harman, Ryan Gerard and Jordan Smith. Jordan Spieth tied for 13th, while home favorite Hideki Matsuyama finished at 9 under.
