Borussia Mönchengladbach Stun Stuttgart for First Bundesliga Win of the Season
Borussia Mönchengladbach ended a six-game losing streak with a 3-2 comeback win at VfB Stuttgart, with 17-year-old Wael Mohya scoring one and assisting another to lift the bottom side off zero points.

Borussia Mönchengladbach finally have points on the board. The Bundesliga's bottom club stunned VfB Stuttgart 3-2 at the MHP Arena on Friday night, ending a run of six straight defeats to start the season and avoiding the first-ever seven-loss start in Bundesliga history. It was also a first win for new head coach Alexander Blessin.
Stuttgart, who rotated heavily after midweek Champions League action against Atlético Madrid, struck early when Ermedin Demirović curled home from Dženan Pejčinović's pass inside five minutes. Gladbach fought back, and Joe Scally levelled in the 38th minute with a clever backheel finish from Zento Uno's effort.
Six minutes after the restart, Wael Mohya shrugged off his markers and released Shuto Machino to put the visitors ahead for the first time. The 17-year-old then nodded in Scally's cross in the 66th minute to make it 3-1, before Demirović headed in Jamie Leweling's delivery in the 83rd minute to set up a nervy finish that Gladbach survived.
"It's an amazing feeling to finally get our first win of the season," Mohya said. "We came here determined to get something from the game, so I'm absolutely delighted." Mohya, who had hit the crossbar before half-time, became the fourth-youngest player to score in back-to-back Bundesliga games, per Opta. Stuttgart have now lost five of their seven league fixtures and slipped to 14th on six points, while Gladbach remain 18th but finally off the mark on three.
