Bonfim Blows Weight by 7.5 Pounds as UFC Vegas 122 Card Survives Friday Scales Drama
Three fighters missed weight at Friday's UFC Fight Night 290 weigh-ins in Las Vegas, with Ismael Bonfim coming in 7.5 pounds heavy — but all bouts proceed Saturday at the Meta APEX with purse fines.

Saturday's UFC Fight Night card in Las Vegas is officially set, but not without Friday morning drama on the scales. Three fighters missed their contracted weights at the UFC Vegas 122 weigh-ins, headlined by a massive 7.5-pound miss from lightweight Ismael Bonfim.
Bonfim tipped the scale at 163.5 pounds for his preliminary-card bout against Francisco Prado — seven and a half pounds over the 156-pound lightweight limit. The fight will still go ahead, but Bonfim has been docked 25 percent of his purse, which goes to Prado.
He was not the only offender. Women's strawweight Ketlen Souza weighed 117 pounds for her main-card meeting with Loopy Godinez, one pound over the limit, and forfeits 20 percent of her purse. Light heavyweight Brendson Ribeiro came in at 208.5 pounds for his prelim against Felipe Franco, 2.5 pounds heavy, and loses 20 percent of his purse as well.
The good news for the promotion: the main event is intact. Middleweight contenders Brendan Allen and Christian Leroy Duncan both made championship weight comfortably — Allen at 186 and Duncan at 185 — ahead of their five-round headliner. The 12-fight card runs Saturday at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, with the prelims starting at 5 p.m. ET and the main card at 8 p.m. ET on Paramount+.
