"Bigi Boy" Returns: Rozenstruik Signs with FNC, Debuts in Munich in February 2027
Former UFC heavyweight contender Jairzinho Rozenstruik has signed with Europe's Fight Nation Championship and will make his promotional debut at FNC 37 in Munich on February 6, 2027, ending a two-year MMA absence.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik is coming back to MMA. The Surinamese heavyweight has signed with Fight Nation Championship, the Croatia-based European promotion announced this week, and will make his promotional debut at FNC 37 on February 6, 2027, at Munich's SAP Garden. No opponent has been named. The move ends a two-year absence from the cage for the 38-year-old, who parted ways with the UFC in February 2025 after a unanimous decision loss to Sergei Pavlovich. Rozenstruik made six UFC main events and headlined against names like Alistair Overeem, Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov, with career wins over Overeem, Junior dos Santos, Tai Tuivasa and Shamil Gaziev. His late knockout of Overeem in 2019 remains one of the most dramatic final-seconds finishes in heavyweight history. Since leaving the UFC, "Bigi Boy" rebuilt momentum in Mike Perry's Dirty Boxing Championship, winning two fights by knockout in 2025 and capturing the promotion's inaugural heavyweight title that August. A reported move to the PFL never materialized — either false or collapsed — and Rozenstruik instead landed in FNC, a surprise destination given many expected a bigger promotion to win the bidding. Contract terms were not disclosed. If he impresses on the regional scene, talk of a UFC return is bound to follow.
