The final qualifying round of the Rolex Paris Masters was completed on Sunday, with five players booking their places in the main draw of the season's last Masters 1000 event at La Défense Arena in Paris. Italy's Mattia Bellucci continued his strong indoor form by beating Argentina's Thiago Agustin Tirante 6-4, 6-4, while Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi, handed a wild card into qualifying, delighted the home crowd by beating Germany's Yannick Hanfmann 7-5, 3-6, 6-4. Slovakia's Alex Molcan eased past Portugal's Nuno Borges 7-6, 6-2, Czech Tomas Machac defeated Argentina's Sebastian Baez 6-2, 6-4, and Italy's Lorenzo Sonego edged Paraguay's Adolfo Daniel Vallejo 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 in the tightest of the five finals. The qualifiers now join a main draw headed by the season's leading players, with the final qualifying event of the year also carrying major implications for the race to the ATP Finals in Turin. For Bonzi in particular, reaching the main draw as a wild card represents a fine week's work on home soil.
