Bears Linked to Wright Reunion as Chicago Keeps Dealing Ahead of Trade Deadline

The Chicago Bears may not be done dealing. After their blockbuster move for Jeffery Simmons, prominent NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday that Chicago is still pushing for a reunion with Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Khalil Mack and is also interested in bringing back Pro Bowl cornerback Nahshon Wright from the New York Jets. Wright, 28, earned Pro Bowl honours with the Bears last year before signing a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Jets in the offseason, but he has appeared in just three games for New York this season. Wright told ESPN he is definitely frustrated by having no role on defense, saying he has not formally requested a trade but has expressed his feelings to the team. Rapoport noted the Bears have a need on the edge and would not be surprised to see them add secondary help as well, adding that general manager Ryan Poles is not done. With the trade deadline set for November 10 at 4 p.m. ET, Chicago has one week to decide whether a Wright reunion is worth pursuing.
