Bears' Defensive Line Takes a Hit as Street Is Carted Off and Jarrett Goes Down

The Chicago Bears' defensive line paid a heavy price for Monday night's 34-17 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Kentavius Street went down with a knee injury in the fourth quarter at Lumen Field, was helped off in visible pain, carted off the field and ruled out, while starting left tackle Grady Jarrett left in the same quarter with a groin injury and was listed as doubtful to return. The injuries landed just four days after general manager Ryan Poles completed the biggest swing of his tenure, trading a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 first-rounder and a 2027 fourth-rounder for three-time All-Pro Jeffery Simmons. Simmons immediately showed why Chicago paid so much, leading the team with six tackles, a sack, two tackles for loss and a pass defensed as the Bears held Seattle to 252 yards. Street had started each of Chicago's first seven games before Simmons took his spot, so his knee is now the bigger question. The timing is awkward: Tampa Bay, 3-5, visit Soldier Field on Sunday night, giving the walking wounded little time to heal, and Poles has until November 10 to make another move, though he has already spent his next two first-round picks.
