Barron's Career Four-Point Night Powers Blues Past Golden Knights 6-2

Justin Barron could hardly have dreamed up a better night in a St. Louis sweater. The defenseman, claimed off waivers from Nashville in late September, recorded his first career four-point game — a goal and three assists — as the Blues dismantled the Vegas Golden Knights 6-2 at the Enterprise Center on Thursday night.

It was a career evening in more ways than one. Barron had never topped two points in a game across six NHL seasons, and he came into the night with just nine points in 52 games for the Predators last season. Now with five points in seven games as a Blue, the waiver pickup is making a strong case he belongs.

Dylan Holloway added two goals and an assist to extend his points streak to six games, while Jimmy Snuggerud contributed a goal and an assist and Pavel Buchnevich and Mason McTavish also found the net. Joel Hofer made 27 saves as St. Louis improved to 5-4-1 and 3-0-1 on home ice.

Vegas, playing without Mitch Marner — out because his wife was giving birth to the couple's second child — lost its second straight game, surrendering 12 goals in the process. Jack Eichel and Brett Howden scored for the Golden Knights (8-4-0), while Adin Hill stopped 25 of 31 shots. The loss marked the first time this season Vegas has dropped consecutive games.
