Barkley Expected Back for Monday Night Showdown as Eagles Host Cowboys
Saquon Barkley is expected to return to practice Thursday and play Monday night against Dallas, NFL Network reported, a huge lift for a 2-4 Eagles team riding a four-game skid.

The Philadelphia Eagles may finally get their star back. Running back Saquon Barkley is expected to return to practice Thursday and suit up Monday night when the Eagles host the Dallas Cowboys, NFL Network reported. The return from a hamstring injury would arrive at a critical moment for a team on a four-game losing streak — and also playing without quarterback Jalen Hurts, who has been diagnosed with a serious blood clot, per the report.
Barkley was hurt in the first quarter of a 24-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Oct. 4 and has been sidelined since. In four appearances this season he has just 36 carries for 182 yards and no touchdowns. Philadelphia (2-4) ranks 30th in total offense at 255.5 yards per game and 29th in rushing at 82.2 — a far cry from the unit that rode its ground game a year ago.
The 2024 NFL Offensive Player of the Year rushed for 2,005 yards last season. Across 110 career games with the New York Giants (2018-23) and the Eagles, Barkley has piled up 11,197 yards from scrimmage and 71 touchdowns. Monday night's clash is an NFC East rivalry game with both the Eagles and Cowboys sitting at 2-4.
