Bangladesh Spinner Aliss Al Islam Reported for Suspect Bowling Action
The ICC has reported Bangladesh off-spinner Aliss Al Islam for a suspect bowling action during the UAE tri-series clash with Afghanistan, and he must now undergo an independent assessment.

Bangladesh's spin problems have taken a new turn off the field. The International Cricket Council announced on Thursday that off-spinner Aliss Al Islam has been reported for a suspect bowling action during the UAE tri-series match against Afghanistan. It is not the first time questions have been raised about the mystery spinner's action. He was previously called for a suspect action in 2019 during his debut T20 appearance for Dhaka Dynamites in the Bangladesh Premier League, before being cleared to bowl. He was reported again in 2025 while playing for Chittagong Kings against Dhaka Capitals, and resumed his career only after being cleared at the BCB testing centre. When Aliss was picked for the tri-nation ODIs, Bangladesh chief selector Habibul Bashar insisted there were no issues. "We picked him because he is bowling and no problem was found as far as his action is concerned," Bashar told Cricbuzz. Under ICC regulations, Aliss will now undergo an independent assessment of his bowling action at an ICC-accredited testing centre. The news compounds a miserable tri-series for Bangladesh, who lost both of their games to Zimbabwe and Afghanistan. Those two sides will contest the final on October 23.
